A poche settimane dal debutto commerciale della nuova Twingo 2012, Renault si appresta ad arricchire la gamma della citycar francese con il lancio della Twingo RS, versione sportiva disponibile nelle concessionarie italiane a partire dal prossimo marzo.La seconda generazione della RS sfoggia i nuovi dettagli estetici della Twingo 2012 tra cui i caratteristici proiettori abbinati ai grandi fendinebbia dalla forma circolare che rimandano inequivocabilmente alla prima generazione, mentre l'inedito simbolo della losanga è stato ingrandito ed integrato nel cofano motore.
Il design della Twingo viene arricchito in questa versione dalle spiccate doti sportive con alcuni dettagli tipici della gamma RS, come ad esempio la parte frontale che ospita il nuovo fascione paraurti con splitter ondulato e pronunciato; ai lati si possono notare minigonne e parafanghi allargati uniti a cerchi in lega bruniti da 16 pollici modello Emotion.
Infine la coda si fa riconoscere per lo spoiler RS di colore nero posizionato sul lunotto e per lo scarico sportivo in acciaio inox.
Il gusto "racing" degli esterni viene ripreso nell'abitacolo dove troviamo sedili sportivi, il volante e il pomello del cambio rivestiti in pelle con dettagli di colore bianco e cuciture a contrasto di colore giallo e un simbolo distintivo dei modelli Renault Sport. Plancia, impianto hi fi, strumentazione e bocchette d'aria laterali, presentano invece inserti Nero Brillante. Notevolmente ampia risulta la dotazione di accessori di serie che comprende oltre a quelli già elencati, climatizzatore manuale, specchietti elettrici, lettore CD-MP3 con ingresso Aux, ESP disinseribile, quattro airbag e un indicatore di frenate d'emergenza.Il reparto sportivo "Renault Sport Technologies" si è concentrato ovviamente sulle doti del potente propulsore della Twingo RS, ottimizzando al massimo le prestazione del motore con il feeling offerto dalle capacità dinamiche della vettura. L'unità in questione è un 1.6 litri sedici valvole capace di erogare 133 CV e 160 Nm di coppia massima. Questi numeri vengono pienamente sfruttati dal telaio della vettura appositamente irrigidito che può essere migliorato con l'adozione dell'assetto "Cup" ribassato di 4 mm, disponibile in opzione.
La Renault Twingo RS sarà disponibile in Italia da marzo.
