Aston Martin V12 Zagato
Aston Martin rivela le prime immagini della nuova V12 Zangato, con il progetto definitivo in mano e uno sviluppo costante dell'ingegneria verrà presentata al salone di Ginevra nel marzo 2012. La V12 Zagato è il top della gamma Vantage; è anche l'ultima espressione di una proficua collaborazione creativa che negli ultimi cinquant'anni ha dato origine a una serie di sorprendenti vetture GT, la più conosciuta e amata delle quali è la Zagato DB4GT. Questo capolavoro di rango è tra le vetture più prestigiose e preziose della storia, il suo 50° anniversario ha fornito l'ispirazione per la nuova AM.
Il progetto è stato visto come l'occasione ideale per unire tecnologia e tradizione in un nuovo eccitante prodotto, infatti pur ricordando la grande Aston Martin del passato la V12 si distingue grazie ad idee moderne, materiali, processi e tecnologia sperimentati sulla One-77. Per il capo esecutivo della casa la V12 Zagato ''è contemporaneamente una celebrazione del suo patrimonio storico e del suo futuro'': la prima di queste vetture speciali- la Zagato DB4GT- ha segnato l'inizio di una produzione di altissima qualità che dura da 50 anni e si conclude ora combinando modernità e storia.
Sotto il cofano pulsa il noto V12 Aston Martin di 6 litri, 517 CV e 570 Nm, che unito alla scocca alleggerita permette di ottenere ottime prestazioni. Le modifiche meccaniche rispetto alla V12 Vantage riguardano in pratica solo l’alleggerimento, l’aggiunta dei dispositivi obbligatori di sicurezza e l’adozione di nuove sospensioni sportive, mentre si è rinunciato agli alettoni, forse anche per lasciare una linea pulita in vista della produzione in piccola serie stradale a partire dal 2012.
